sunlight

goodness.  how ironic is it that i've been trying to blog this layout all week, but have simply not managed to find the time to photograph it while the sun is making an appearance.  how can the days be so long and yet so short this time of year?

these photos are from our spring camout.  i loved catching the light in the evening and morning.  so beautiful.  do you think that since winter is coming early this year that spring might come early too?

i used a patterned paper kit that i made myself by looking at a manufacturer's release, loving it, almost buying it, then realizing i had so many similar papers already.  what a great way to use up my stash!  and it was so refreshing using a mix of papers that i coordinated myself.  it's been a long time!  i especially love how i could make the papers express what i was feeling about these photos.  there are three pieces that remind me of sunshine, one with stars, another that really shouts spring grass, and then i am always a sucker for nostalgic words written i a typewriter font.  and let's not forget ledger being perfect for journaling.  yep.  really loved playing with the patterned paper.

i was also able to make an accompanying spread with the kit using more photos from that campout weekend.

instead of project life cards, i stuck with patterned paper cut to size and lots of labels.

i particularly like the way the "perseverance" title and journaling look on the climbing board.  i really like the look of writing on my photos and it's a great way to sneak in a few more words.
